As a master of several instruments including Hammond Organ and guitar, Phil has performed and recorded with hundreds of artists, notably Emmylou Harris, Dave Matthews, Al Green, Elvis Costello, Patty Griffin, Mavis Staples and Solomon Burke. A songwriter with Warner Chappell Music, Phil’s songs have been recorded by Alison Krauss, Garth Brooks, Toby Keith, and Amy Grant. These include, “Maybe,” “If I Was Jesus” and “Do Something Now.” Other artists who’ve recorded Phil’s music include Keb’Mo’, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Bruce Hornsby and Ricky Skaggs and Sixpence None The Richer.  Phil was recently invited to join Emmylou Harris’ band for her 2008 World Tour.
